Q. Do I need prior experience in Adobe Captivate?
A. Yes, you should have some basic familiarity with Adobe Captivate, however you do not need extensive experience. We do not recommend that individuals who have never worked in Adobe Captivate before take this program.
 
Q. What is the refund policy?
A. This program is non-refundable, under no circumstances will refunds be provided.
 
Q. How long will it take to watch the online training videos?
A. The video content is 7 ½ hours long. If you choose to follow along and complete the practice work, that is an additional 30-40 hours.
 
Q. How long will it take to complete the practice work?
A. The practice work will take 30-40 hours to complete in addition to the 7 ½ hours of online training videos that must be watch.
 
Q. Are the training videos required?
A. Yes. The training videos is where you will learn everything you need to know for the assessment. The in-person workshop will be a high-level review of the training videos.
 
Q. Is the practice work required?
A. No, but it is highly recommended in order to ensure the most knowledge transfer and increase your probability of passing the final assessment.
 
Q. When will I get the online training videos and practice work?
A. If your payment for the course has been received, you will receive access 2 months prior to your workshop date. If you have made payment and are within your 2 month window, please email captivatespecialist@carahsoft.com to inquire about your access.
 
Q. Is closed captioning or a transcript available for the online training videos?
A. Unfortunately closed captioning/transcript is not available at this time. If you find the videos are moving too quickly or too slowly for you, you may adjust the speed – on the player you can adjust the speed to 0.75, 0.5 etc. to slow it down or adjust it to 1.25, 1.5, etc. to speed it up.
 
Q. Can I export or print the notes I take during the online videos?
A. Yes, you can! To print the notes:
  1. Open the Specialist Program, then click the chapter hyperlink.
  2. This will take you to the Chapter page, with Modules tab selected.
  3. Switch to the Notes tab. Here you will get the option to either download the notes or email it to yourself.
  4. You will need to do this for each chapter individually.

Q. I am unable to login and access the online training videos.
A. Login using a Google Chrome Incognito Browser.
 
Q. I am having trouble downloading or extracting zip files from Adobe Captivate.
A. Ensure you are using the most up to date version of Adobe Captivate, you should be using version 11.5.1.499.
 
Q. When is the assessment?
A. The assessment will be delivered at the end of the in-person workshop from 4:00-5:30pm.
 
Q. How long do I have to take the assessment?
A. You have 90 minutes to complete the assessment.
 
Q. How long will it take to receive my score from the assessment?
A. Your score will be displayed as soon as you complete your assessment.
 
Q. What is a passing score?
A. In order to pass, you must receive a 70% or higher.
 
Q. Is the assessment open book?
A. Yes! You can use your notes during the assessment.
 
Q. What happens if I fail the assessment?
A. If you fail the assessment, you may re-register and pay again for a future program date to re-take the assessment.
 
Q. Are there re-takes if I fail the assessment?
A. No
 
Q. Are there discounts to re-take future programs?
A. No
 
Q. After I finish the assessment, can I review the questions that I got wrong?
A. No. Because this is a continuing program and an overall competency program, we cannot disclose the questions or answers for post-assessment review.
 
Q. Will machines be provided?
A. No. Machines will not be provided. All participants are required to bring their own machine and power adaptor, access to power will be provided. It’s critical that participants also ensure that their machine can function outside of their normal network and that no firewalls or security features will prohibit them from logging on remotely, to a wifi network, or accessing Adobe Captivate.
 
Q. Will internet be provided?
A. Yes, a shared wifi network will be provided.
 
Q. Will meals be provided?
A. Yes, breakfast and lunch will provided and beverage breaks will be available periodically during the day.
