Ransomware attacks are not new, but they are evolving and becoming more sophisticated. Criminals are plowing their profits back into tools and platforms they use, building up expertise, and targeting increasingly high-profile organizations. Four of the top five most dangerous pieces of malware recorded in 2020 were ransomware.
