Boone is a 20-year veteran of Utah law enforcement. He worked as an officer in Patrol and as an Investigator in Major Crimes prior to being promoted to the rank of Sergeant. As Sergeant, he led several patrol squads and the Crime Reduction Unit. In 2017, he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and served as Watch Commander and Chief of Staff.
Boone was the Commander of the Ogden Real Time Crime Center and the Investigations Bureau. He was awarded a Distinguished Unit Citation for his work with the RTCC and was recognized by the United States Attorney's Office for his work related to Project Safe Neighborhood. Boone holds a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Weber State University.
