Gerry Caron, CIO and Assistant Inspector General of IT, OIG, HHS


Mr. Caron is a member of the Senior Executive Service (SES) and serves as the Chief Information Officer (CIO)/Assistant Inspector General for Information Technology (AIG/IT) for the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Previously, Gerald was Director of Enterprise Network Management (ENM) within the Directorate of Operations in the Bureau of Information Resource Management (IRM) at the Dependent of State (DOS). 


Mr. Caron has over 24 years of information technology experience. He began his career in the US Army working in hands-on technical positions serving for seven years as a Programmer and Administrator. Mr. Caron then spent 2 years as a contractor with the federal government, where he acquired more refined technical skills and a more detailed understanding of IT operations. He joined the federal government at the Department of State (DOS) in 2003 as a Systems Administrator. He has held five different positions at the Department, moving from managing small technical groups leading up to his previous role as the ENM Director.


                                                 


Danny Connelly, CISO Americas, Public Sector, Zscaler


Danny has 20 years of cybersecurity experience split between offensive computing as an ethical hacker and defending some of our most important networks used in COVID response. As a highly regarded thought leader and trusted cybersecurity advisor, Danny provided guidance and formulated strategies to combat emerging threats for various agencies across the federal government. Prior to joining Zscaler, Danny was the Associate CISO, Operations Branch Chief for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). During his 11 year tenure at CDC, Danny was responsible for implementing operational capabilities to support incident response, forensics, cyber threat intel, and insider threat functions. He has designed, implemented, and optimized enterprise cybersecurity capabilities to effectively detect, prevent, and respond to emerging cybersecurity threats. Danny is proud to have led CDC defenders on the front lines to survive some of the most sophisticated threats over the last decade.


                                             

Rajan Koo, SVP of Customer Engineering, Dtex Systems


As Senior Vice President of customer engineering, Rajan is responsible for enterprise customer success, managing detects installations, services, and implementing at some of the top enterprises in the world. This includes critical tasks such as developing custom architecture for customer-specific needs or scaling Dtex across hundreds of thousands of users. As a Chartered Professional Engineer with over 15 years of engineering experience, Rajan has been awarded patents for his work in R&D (including for Dtex's unique anonymization features) and has lead technical reviews for multi-million dollar industrial automation projects. As a leader, Rajan drives focus to deliver projects from conception to implementation. He believes in fostering learning and knowledge, sharing with his team, and believes that lifetime learning is integral to innovation.



Matt Glenn, Sr VP, Product Management, Illumio

As Senior Vice President of product management, Matt is responsible for Illumio’s product lines and product strategy. Before Illumio, he was Vice President of product management for the network security business unit at McAfee, supporting its firewall, intrusion detection system, email security, web security, data loss and prevention, and identity product lines. Before McAfee, Matt was the founder and CEO of PlantSense, an internet of things start-up that created the EasyBloom plant sensor, whose sensor technology was sold to Parrot SA. Before starting EasyBloom, he worked at Cisco Systems, where he ran product management and grew the organization’s revenue from zero to a billion-dollar run rate. Matt previously worked at Xircom (IPO), Xylan (IPO), and Packet Engines (acquired by Alcatel). Matt studied English and Computer Information Systems at Humboldt State University.
