Steve McMahon, Interim CIO, Splunk Inc.  


Steve has 20+ years in the high tech industry working at Splunk, Cisco, IBM, and several start-ups. At Splunk over the past 5 years, Steve has led the Global Customer Support & Renewals Organization, the Cloud Operations & Engineering Organization and is now the Interim-CIO. 


Prior to Splunk Steve spent 15+ years at Cisco in various leadership roles including transformation of the Cisco Remote Managed Services offering, rebuilding support teams from Cisco acquisitions in the Cloud and SaaS space, and transforming the Premium Support offer. In his early days, Steve built a Six Sigma consulting practice around shift work schedules and workforce productivity.

Ashok Sankar, Director, Solutions Marketing, Splunk Inc.


Ashok Sankar is the Director of Solutions Strategy focused on public sector and education markets at Splunk. In this role, he is responsible for evangelism of the company’s solutions portfolio, leading thought leadership and strategic initiatives, customer engagements, and content marketing strategies for the company’s portfolio of data analytics solutions. He brings expertise across analytics, security, mobile, cloud and virtualization technologies and their applications in public sector and commercial industries. He holds a Master’s in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech and a certificate in cybersecurity strategy from Georgetown University.

Andy Price, Senior Manager, Sales Engineering, Federal, Splunk Inc.


Andy is an engineering leader who works with Federal Civilian agencies to help them realize the value of machine data. Through his work, Andy has helped many federal customers improve security, remedy operational flaws, and improve efficiency. 


Previously, Andy worked for a cyber security company and served in the federal government for several years. While in the government, Andy held positions in both IT Operations and Information Security. In 2008, he received the DOL Secretary's Exceptional Achievement Award for his contributions towards improved cyber security.





John Stoner, Principal Security Strategist, Splunk Inc.


John Stoner is a Principal Security Strategist at Splunk. In his current role, he leverages his experience to educate and improve users’ capabilities in Security Operations, Threat Hunting, Incident Response, and Threat Intelligence. He has authored multiple hands-on workshops that focus on enhancing these specific security skills. His writings can be found on Splunk blogs, most notably in the Hunting with Splunk: The Basics and Dear Buttercup: The Security Letters series. John developed and maintains a Splunk application, SA-Investigator, that drives greater situational awareness and streamlines investigations and assists in steering the BOTS ship. He enjoys problem solving, writing, and educating. John has presented at various industry symposia including BSides, FIRST, DefCon Packet Hacking Village, and SANS, and has briefed members of the US Congress and other senior government leaders on the threat landscape.
