Breakout Track Descriptions and Requirements

Main Session/Executive Track - (1 Day Session)
This track is tailored towards agency decision makers, managers and architects who are tasked with moving their applications to the cloud or SaaS offerings. The speakers for this track will include industry leaders, security evangelists, and executives from Federal Agencies all sharing their insights and best practices for moving their solutions to the cloud. The track will provide insights into the current state of Government Cloud adoption, Security concerns for migrating or building applications in the cloud, as well as lessons learned from Federal leaders who have already begun the cloud migration journey.

Track 1 - Boot Camp 101 - (2 Day Session)
This track is designed for customers who are relatively new to the F5 product portfolio and are looking to take the first step on the path to F5 Certified Big-IP Administrator. This training will encompass networking basics, discuss where application calls are made in the TCP/IP stack and help the end user prepare for the F5 Certified Professional 101 exam on Application Delivery Fundamentals.
Attendees are highly encouraged to create an account on F5 University (It’s Free!) and take the “Getting Started” series on F5 University and download and read the 101 study guide. This session will start on day 1 and end on day 2, so please plan to attend this session on both days.

Track 2 - Boot Camp 201 - (2 Day Session)
The 200 level education track is for F5 administrators who have had some hands on experience with the Big-IP Platform and who wish to finish getting their Certified Big-IP Administrator certification by taking the 201 exam. This track will focus on TMOS (Traffic Management Operating System) Administration and LTM (Local Traffic Manager) Fundamentals. As a prerequisite, attendees should have either successfully passed the 101 exam, and/or have a minimum of 6 months of hands on experience with the Big-IP Platform. This session will start on day 1 and end on day 2, so please plan to attend this session on both days.

Track 3 - Boot Camp 301 - (2 Day Session)
This track will dive into the more advanced features of the Big-IP platform – it will primarily focus on Advanced Authentication via Access Policy Manager (APM), and implementing a Web Application Firewall (WAF) policy. This track is intended for administrators who have had a year or more hands on experience with the Big-IP Platform and who intend to implement some of these more advanced features. Ideally candidates for this class should already be a F5 Certified Administrator and be considering taking a 300 level certification exam. This session will start on day 1 and end on day 2, so please plan to attend this session on both days.

Track 4 - Cloud - (2 Day Session)
The cloud track will explore deploying and automating application services into the cloud – either private or public cloud platforms. The track will include topics such as automation deep dives, leveraging cloud enablement technologies such as Ansible, Git Hub, etc. and leveraging SaaS solutions like Office 365 in the Federal Government. Attendees should have a strong interest or background in either automation, Software Defined Networks (SDN), be in a current DevOp’s role and/or be involved with supporting or moving legacy applications into a Government cloud platform (Super NetOps). This session will start on day 1 and end on day 2, so please plan to attend this session on both days.
