HyTrust and VMware have recently co-integrated their security technologies in VMware’s vSAN Hyperconverged Infrastructure software, including the built-in encryption capabilities of vSAN 6.6 Enterprise Edition. When combined with HyTrust’s integration with Intel’s Trusted Execution Technology (TXT) hardware and Trusted Platform Module (TPM) technology, organizations can extend a hardware root-of-trust into HCI and software-defined storage. This enables not only the ability to encrypt workloads and data, but also to ring fence them, so they can be accessible only within pre-defined trust boundaries.
